Welcome to our cabin inspired store in the historic village of Hahndorf, SA, where we reside in an 183 year old half-timbered cottage.

Named respectively after Henry David Thoreau’s 1954 work ‘Walden’, a reflection of his time living in a cabin in the woods, our store provides carefully curated products to inspire and assist you with your own endeavours into the wilderness.

We dedicate ourselves to braving the storm in life, both figuratively and literally, AND VALUE OWNING QUALITY GOODS THAT LAST. WE’RE STOCKED WITH A SELECTION OF WOOL BLANKETS, WAXED CANVAS BACKPACKS, LEATHER JOURNALS, EVERYDAY CARRY,  VINTAGE CAMERAS, LANTERNS, WOOD-SCENTED INCENSE, BOOKS AND MORE.

The store was founded years after owner Kat Romeo travelled the USA, inspired by its wild terrain and remote cabins in the midwest and west coast. We’re believers in the things that make rough terrain easy - the right gear and some good whiskey. Our liquor license allows you to have a nip while you browse the store.
